Georgian Downs Racing and Casino Operators

Georgian Downs opened in November 2001 beside Highway 400, near exit 85 in Innisfil. The track shares its address with the casino: 7485 5th Side Road. It runs live Standardbred racing, the harness kind, in June, July and August. Simulcast racing opens at 12 PM, 7 days a week. Its closing time is not published.

Race dates do not appear in this guide. The race calendar and racing news sit on Great Canadian's Georgian Downs page at greatcanadian.com. That page is the place to confirm a summer race day before driving up Highway 400. For questions about the track itself, call 705-726-9400. The casino keeps a separate phone line.

Gateway Casinos Innisfil shares the track's address on 5th Side Road. Its doors stay open around the clock on every day of the week, and the live tables follow the same schedule. A driver pulling off the 400 at 3 AM finds the floor and the tables running. Holiday opening times go unpublished, so ringing the casino line confirms them.

The floor holds more than 1,000 slot machines, reel and video. A higher-stakes slot room carries Wheel of Fortune and $1 games. There are 22 live table games, from Blackjack and Roulette to Baccarat and Three Card Poker. No table minimums are published. To reach the casino by phone, dial 705-726-6770.

Two companies share the 5th Side Road site, and each runs its own part. Gateway Casinos & Entertainment runs the casino, from the slot floor to the live tables. Great Canadian Entertainment runs the Georgian Downs racetrack, and its page at greatcanadian.com carries the race calendar. Race-day questions belong with the track, and casino questions with Gateway.

Behind the casino stands a third name, OLG. In 2018 it selected Gateway as the service provider for its Central Gaming Bundle. That bundle includes the gaming site at Georgian Downs. Casinos in Ontario operate under OLG and are regulated by the AGCO. This guide is not Gateway, Great Canadian or OLG, and it takes no bets.
